Kenya has a coastline on the indian ocean, so landlocked countires like burundi, rwanda and uganda use Kenya to get their imports and exports to and from the port in Mombasa, Kenya. These three countries were really affected.

also in 1998 the American embassy in Nairobi was bombed by al Queda, it was one of their most successful attacks before 9-11
Also, scientists think that the first humans came from the Kenya-Tanzania area tens of thousands of years ago.
