How would the world change if God were disproven?

Suppose that tomorrow a group of scientists were able to definititively, without question, absolutely PROVE that there was no God. Existence is simply you're born, you live, you die. What change do you think this would have on human society? Do you think people's behavior would be better or worse? Do you think our government would let up the reins to live as we want, or crack down to keep us in line?
How would the world change if God were disproven?
That will never happen. People will not believe the scientists even if they were right. They will find ways to justify God's existence regardless of what the scientists say, and life will go on as usual. There already are scientific facts that strongly suggest God doesn't exist, or at least that the Bible is wrong, and people have either adapted those facts into their beliefs or just pretended like those facts are wrong. ie. evolution, earth not the center of the universe, etc...

As to if it did hypothetically happen, people would need to find somewhere new to turn for guidance and to calm their fear of death. I would guess that a new religion would be created with a new god that can exist even with the scientists' proof. As for morality, I don't think religion is really the source of morality in people. I think the law keeps people in check more than religion does. After all, there are people of all religions in jail cells.
How would the world change if God were disproven?
we would have never existed next question
Perhaps, you should prove that he exists first. It is a bit of a paradox.
A great depression would follow, then life will go on.

Of course, since God does exist, this can never happen.
The GOP would collapse. America would transition into a new golden age of reason.
I'm not religious I still think it would be a change for the worse.
Science is the study of how and why things work, not a study or search for God. God is over and bigger than science.

This claim is being made every day that scientists can prove that there is no God. But people continue to believe anyway.
Faith cannot be disproven. It would clear things up for some 'agnostics,' though.
People would deny it and life would go on as usual
When the Russian Revolution burned all the Icons and took religion out of the country, the people still believed. Do you honestly think that any scientist would be so arrogant and ignorant to propose what is in the hearts of the people of this planet? Whether he God, Allah, Buddha, or who ever, we all believe for a reason.
nobody would believe it
You can't prove a negative.

*Edit: I can't suppose that which is logically impossible. It's like saying %26quot;suppose a married bachelor%26quot; or %26quot;suppose a square circle.%26quot;
God does EXISTS! now IF it was proven that he doesn't then ppl would feel as if they have no one to answer to for their actions, and they would probably do as they wish and SIN!
Scientist lie! God doesnt!
I think some peoples faith in god is so strong they would refuse to believe the scientists - even if they absolutely proved it - also the government would create a threat whether real or made up to put restraints on those who werent in line with the way they wanted people to live
well, there would still be some diehard people who would say they are lying. I think the reins would loosen because the people would finally start thinking for themselves instead of letting the church tell them what they should believe.
I think it wouldn't really matter because many people would just ignore the findings, regardless of how powerful the evidence. The believers know god exists and they will just assume the science is wrong.
My goodness even Fruit flys and Monkeys make choices. What are you so angry about? How do you find a Spirit? If you don't believe in a god why do you care? Oh that's right you believe you evolved from a Monkey, No argument here..Next!
I thought about your question before answering and tried as hard as I could to accept your premise. Unfortunately, the dynamics of our existence do not allow for even a hypothetical answer. If a single celled organism were to %26quot;prove%26quot; to other single celled organisms that man does not exist, would that make it so? Or would it only display the cell's incapacity to prove that man does exist?

Edit: I hate to say it but GOP Princess is right. (except for the GOP muah part).
most wouldn't believe it anyway. depending on which country the scientists were from and which nation backed them they could be attacked by religious groups who disagreed.

I don't how behavior would change.

I really think it could cause more disputes since the people who would still believe in god would distance themselves from those who didn't, there would be more anti-science feelings, and more religious wars.
Democrats would be proven correct, if there is no God.

Democrats would be dancing in the streets, because they Really hate Christians.

(You can tell that by little Democrats on Yahoo.)

BUT...... What IF there is No Satan???? How would that effect Democrats?

Would they still Dance????

Great Question!!!
The scientist would have never existed to %26quot;supposedly disprove their existence%26quot;
Humans have been denying God for years. However if God didn't exist, none of us would. Creation would be nothing - no shape or color. Empty.

Because God created all things and still exists to maintain them, we don't ever have to worry about this.
Moot point. There is God, so how can you answer that?

But, playing along with you....I guess it would look like the Democrat Party National Convention...
