While society is currently undergoing many rapid changes, people disagree about their direction. Has the world, in fact, changed for the better or worse?
HAVE THE WORLD CHANGED FOR BETTER OR WORSE?
In terms of people, I think we've become better. We are more sympathetic towards human suffering and animal suffering, and for the most part we do try to help. Our laws have become more humane too (dependent on the culture). I mean, it wasn't too long ago that people were drowned, boiled, stoned and burnt alive...so I think we've gotten better in that department.
We have also changed what constitutes a hero. Before, heroes were generals - the stronger and meaner you were, the bigger the hero. Now, a hero can be a common person, who does good.
In terms of the world, the three things I find worst is: how we treat the earth, how materialistic the %26quot;individual%26quot; has become, and how we keep creating monstrous war technology.
However, I feel that the best thing about us %26quot;now%26quot; is that we know what we do wrong, and we are trying to change that...little by little.

I think that depends upon your personal situation at the time you answer this question. Your judgment would obviously be influenced by your finances, love life, employment opportunities and many other factors. So I guess I'm saying that for some it's better and for some it's worse. Frankly, that's the way it's always been.
